RESUME BOOK VISIONEERING
By: Martin Luther Manao

When is vision is born? Visions are born in the soul of a man or woman who is consumed with the tension between what is and what could be. Vision is a preferred future, a destination. Vision always stand in contrast to the world as it is. Vision demand change. It it implies movement. But vision reguires someone to champion the cause.
A vision begins as a concern. When we hear or see something that gets our attention. Something will bothers us about the things are or the way things are headed. we will find ourself thinking about them in your free time. we may lose our sleep over them. We won’t be able to let them go because they wont’t let us go.
A vision does not necessarily require immediate action. It always requireds patience.
Not every good idea is vision material. But every vision begins as an idea. Not all burdens are vision material. But every vision begins as a burden. Time allows us to distinguish between good idea and vision. Waiting give us a chance to examine our emotions and sort our minor concern from major ones.

PRAYING AND PLANNING
Nehemiah did two things in the meantime to keep his dream alive: Praying and Planning.
Nehemiah praying for two things in reference to his vision. First, he prayed for opportunity. Opportunity to share his vision with the king. Second, he prayed for favor. Nehemiah prayed for God to cause King Artaxerxes to take interest in and support his vision.
In addition to praying for opportunites and potensial players, spend time planning a strategy. So if God granted him an opportunity to cast his vision before the king. He would be ready.

POSITIONS PLEASE
Positioning the players.
From a little boy, God had been engineering Nehemiah in circumtances to ensure him a place among the palace servant. From there God, maneuvered him through the ranks of influential Persian officials so he was noticed for his integrity and trustworthiness. Eventually, he was recommanded to the king by some unknown palace staffer and one day he was appointed to the position of cupbearer. God had been working behind the s scenes, putting all the player into position. God using your circumtances to position and prepare you to accomplish his vision for your life. God has us where he wants us. He is the master strategist. we are an important component in his strategy. He is the master strategist and we are the body. He is in control. We are to surrender to that control.

THE GOD OF HOW
The story of Chris and Mark illustrates an agonizingly important principle: What always precedes how. You will know what God has put in your heart to do before you know how he intends to bring it about. Often you will know what long before you understand how. Many visions die in the time between what and how. When how seems out of sight, it is tempting to put what out of mind.
There is nothing difficult for God. What He originates, he orchestrates. When God puts something in our heart to do, He goes to work behind the scenes to ensure that it happens.

FAITH, THE ESSENTIAL INGREDIENT

Faith is confidence that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He has promised to do. It is an expression of confidence in the person and character of God. It is the proper response to the promise or revelation of God. Pursuing a vision reguires faith. Pursuing a great vision reguires great faith. Pursuing a vision will test, stretch, and at times exhaust your faith. Nehemiah knew it wasn’t his patience, his preparation, his communication skills, or his persuasive personality that made the moment possible. The only God could have engineered these circumstances. And Nehemiah was quick to give credit where credit was due. He recognized the source of his success.

TAKING INVENTORY
There was no way for Nehemiah to know what he would find when he arrived in Jerusalem. He knew what God had put in his heart to do But he also knew that without the support of the residents of Jerusalem, success would be impossible. This was familiar territory for Nehemiah. Nehemiah did some walking before he did any talking. He did not ride into town and announce his intentions. Instead, he did some fact finding. He wasn’t driven by the emotion of the moment. As exicted as he must have been, he kept a level head.
Investigation will help to conclude the vision, investigation also help to distinguish between a good cause and a God odained vision. Investigation help to make the vision focus.

GOING PUBLIC
Every compelling vision includes four vital component:
1. The Problem
2. The solution
3. The reason something must be done
4. The reason something must be done now
The Problem provides a clear context for presenting the vision. The problems is not the vision. The solution is the vision. A vision is always a solution to a problem. A Clear explanation of the problem angages the mind. The vision calls us to imagine what could be. The reason behind what could be moves us to believe that it should be.
The timing is the question why should we do this now? Why all the urgency?

THE POWER OF VISION
Vision is powerful. Particularly when it is cast by someone we look up to and respect, someone we trust and are prone to emulate. Vision serves as intrinsic motivation. We move in a direction because we want to. Not because we are told to. A vision draws and even enchants us. By words we cast our vision. The words are powerful. They are life-shaping. We can use them for good or evil. To build or destroy. To point people in a God honoring direction or to send them down a path of regret.

VISION HAS ITS PRICE
Vision requires courage and confidence. It requires launching out as if you were absolutely assured of the outcome. Vision reguires the commitment of a parachutist.
A vision reguires somebody to go first. We cannot lead people any further than we are willing to go ourself. We cannot compelling vision for people if we have not demonstrated our willingness to make sacrifices and take risks. We cannat expect others to take greater risks or make greater sacrifices then we are.

WARDING OFF CRITICISM
Vision involve two elements that often cause them to draw negative attention: change and gaps. If we will share the vision to anyone, we will facen the painfully aware of the truth of four statements:
1. Vision are easy to criticize
2. Vision attract criticize
3. Vision are difficult to defend agaisnt criticism
4. Vision often die at the hand of the critics
So that we need to give the good respond to criticism with prayer, remembrance and if necessary, a revision of the plan.

ALIGNMENT
Time and bumps is two reason can make the team lose their alignment. Over time, people distracted. They can lose their passion. Make bored. They develop their own agendas. All of these things can cause them to pull to the left or right of center.
The other things that cause teams to lose alignment is an unexpected event. A crisis, for instances. Whereas timen and usage will gradually pull a team out of alignment, a crisis can do so overnight.
Vision thrive in an environment of unity. They die in an environment of division.
Alignment problems are a fact of life for organization and families. But the important thing is to take action.

MORAL AUTHORITY
Moral authority is not a method. It is a way to get things done. It is not a mean to a prearranged and. Genuine moral authority is not something a leader sets out to develop in order to become a better leader or to gain influence with people. Leader and influencers who are driven purely by a desire to be leaders and influencers rarely maintain their moral authority. Because great leaderhsip is rooted in something other than a desire to be a great leader. Influence is rooted in something other than a desire to be an influencer.
Moral authority is a reflection of a man or women commitment to something outside the realm of influence an leadership. Moral authority is the result of a mommitment to do what right. Regardless. Man or woment who maintain their moral authority are not playing to the crowd. They are not driven by a desire to gain influence. Their number one concern is dong the right thing even if doing the right thing appers to jeopardize their influence.
Developing and maintaingin moral authority requires three things: character, sacrifice and time.

DISTRACTIONS
Life is full of distraction. There is three specific type of distraction: Opportunities, criticim, and fear.
Every day of our life, opportunities come along that have the potential to distract us form the main things that God has called us to do. To accomplish the important things we must learn to say not to good things. More often than not, it is good things that have the greatest potential to distract us from the best things, the vision things. Like Nehemiah when he accepted the invitation from Sanballats. He enemies would have kill him when he say yes to that invitation. But the fact Nemehiah say no because he focus on his job, vision has God put in his heart.
The second distraction is criticism. Criticism can make man and women painful but Don’t be distracted by criticism. Take your frustrations and anger to the one who got yout into this things to begin with. Time will tell who is right. The worse thing you can do is allow your anger to shift your focus.
THE INEXPLICABLE LIFE
There is three marks of an unexplainable life :
1. Peace.
2. Healthy relationships
3. Character.
THE END OF THE LINE

God birth the vision in our heart to use that for His Glory. God always reveals Himself in the midst of vision He has authored. The end of a God inspired vision is God. The end of a God ordained vision is God.

MAINTAINING YOUR COURSE
Maintaining a vision requires adhenrence to a set of core belief and behavior. To keep a vision moving in the right direction, those involved must embrace a mutually agreed-upon code of conduct.
To developing a list of beliefs and behaviors for the vision there is one way to determine these is to ask following two question of each arena where us believe strongly that something could be and should be. They can be asked as a team or as an individual.
1. What could we do that, if done consistently, would provide the greatest potential for our succes.
2. What could we do that would guarantee we never see our vision materialize?

THE LEADERS MANDATE
STAY FULLY ENGAGED AND ACT BOLD
There is no autopilot in the enterprise of visioneering. Sustaining a vision’s forward motion requires the visionary’s constant attention. Stay fully engaged.
When the time come for us to start calling down curses and pulling out hair, there is two things to keep in mind:
1. Bold leadership must be vision based
2. Bold action must be carried out against a backdrop of clearly defined beliefs and behaviors.
Visionaring calls for bold leadership. Develop a healthy intolerance for those things that have the potential to impede progress toward what could be and should be-those things God has put in our heart to do
